In
1989 I went abroad for the first time to Athens
with my friend Xenophon. We initially visited his
frends in Athens but ultimately stayed with his
family in Vaseleka. Our first night on Lesvos we
stayed in the port city of Mitilini where this photo
was done. I was too excited to sleep so I stayed
up and painted until 4AM.
